Investing Partners
The Blue Springs Economic Development Corporation (EDC) was created in November of 2005, as a 501(C)6 non-profit corporation with the mission to perform economic development services within Blue Springs for the benefit of the community. The EDC's formation grew out of an existing Economic Development Department housed within City Hall since 1989.

Through the growth of Blue Springs community leaders saw the need to create a new organization representing both public and private Investing Partners to pursue a growing mission that requires additional organizational resources.

The members that comprise the Investing Partners of the EDC participate at three different financial levels of investment requiring an annual pledge over three years. The annual investment levels for Investing Partners are: Foundation Level Partner-$5,000; Sustaining Level Partner-$2,500; and Investor Level Partner-$1,000. More information on membership levels and their benefits is described here.

Finally, the City of Blue Springs is also an Investing Partner in the EDC institutionalized in a three-year Agreement For Services signed between the City and EDC. This Agreement spells out how the EDC will perform the community's economic development services called for in the EDC's adopted Annual Business Plan.
