Missouri Innovation Park

Our most recent news is the announcement of the Missouri Innovation Park. The Blue Springs Economic Development Corporation (EDC), in conjunction with the City of Blue Springs, will develop a 250+ acre science and technology innovation park. This investment will provide a clustered focus for knowledge based innovation and commercial-ization in Western Missouri.

This knowledge-based community will be anchored by a long-term collaboration with the University of Missouri (MU), as its anchor research tenant, in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding recently signed by the Blue Springs EDC, the City of Blue Springs, and MU. MU will establish a Mizzou Innovation Center at the Missouri Innovation Park to consolidate MU’s various activities in the region.

On May 18, 2010 the University launched "The Mizzou Center" in Blue Springs via leased space in the Heartland Financial Building. With this move, the University established a presence in the Kansas City region two years ahead of schedule.

Where innovation meets opportunity!

MU’s presence in the Missouri Innovation Park is also a focal point for the University’s next major capital campaign, and viewed as a long-term strategic investment and collaboration with Blue Springs, Western Missouri and Greater Kansas City.

The University of Missouri, the City of Blue Springs, and Blue Springs Economic Development Corporation and Missouri Innovation Park, Inc. (formerly BSGI) represent the initial key stakeholders in bringing this unique and vibrant mixed use park to life. The stakeholders intend to set the stage for MIP being a world-class science and innovation park like that will prioritize and offer incentives for LEED and sustainable development design.

The MIP offers a business and research park within a planned park environment, featuring walking and biking trails incorporated into the existing golf course and Adams Dairy Park pedestrian friendly environment.
