7 Highway Corridor
Blue Springs has three north-south corridors connecting to Interstate 70. 7 Highway is the principal highway corridor supporting traffic through Blue Springs. It handles between 27,000 and 34,000 vehicles each day depending upon the intersection location located along 7 Highway.

This highway corridor has also faced challenges over the past 15-20 years as its retail properties have matured and in some cases relocated elsewhere in Blue Springs. To address these challenges, the City of Blue Springs has been committed to supporting appropriate property redevelopment, which in the past 2 years has resulted in many new redevelopment projects such as Copperleaf Village, Taco Bueno, Village Gardens, Park Plaza, Starbucks, First National Bank of Missouri, and Subway, to name a few.

Two projects to date have received incentive assistance through either Tax Increment Financing or Chapter 353 redevelopment assistance: Copperleaf Village and Village Gardens, whereas the market brought the other projects forward based upon sound redevelopment fundamentals, high traffic counts, good visibility and ample parking.
